Active dates:2005 - 2009
Function: The Board of Barber and Cosmetologist Examiners oversees the administration, enforcement, regulation, and adoption of rules regulating the barber and cosmetologist professions.
History: The 2003 legislature moved the licensing responsibility for cosmetologists from the Commerce Department to the Barbers Examiners Board, and renamed the combined Board the Board of Barber and Cosmetologist Examiners in 2004. The merger took effect in FY 2005.
