World Trade Center Board

Function: Facilitate and support Minnesota World Trade Center programs and services and promote the Minnesota World Trade Center.
History: The 1987 Legislative Session created the World Trade Center Corporation to replace the World Trade Center Board. The corporation is a public corporation and a state agency. The current nine members of the Board will become nine of the corporation's board of directors. (p.1 "World Trade Center Board Financial and Compliance Audit for the Period July 1, 1984 through February 27, 1987").

Changes enacted 1993; may change membership information below.
Membership: 15 members (9 voting members: 3 appointed by the governor, 6 appointed by the association of members who represent the international business community), plus 3 senators and 3 representatives; appointed by governor; senate confirmation required; 6-year terms; per diem and expenses; members file with Ethical Practices Board.
