Minnesota Ballpark Authority

Function: The authority shall oversee planning and construction of Minnesota Twins baseball stadium. The authority shall establish a Web site for purposes of providing information to the public concerning all actions taken by the authority. At a minimum, the Web site must contain a current version of the authority's bylaws, notices of upcoming meetings, minutes of the authority's meetings, and contact telephone and facsimile numbers for public comments.
History: The Minnesota Ballpark Authority is a public body that was created by the 2006 Legislature to oversee the design, construction and operation of Target Field. The MBA owns the site and the facility on behalf of the public.

The MBA is committed to protecting the public's investment, while creating a new urban landmark that ties into new rail lines and potential new development (from their website, 3/7/11).
Membership: 2 members appointed by the Governor, 2 members (including the chair) appointed by the county board, 1 member appointed by the governing body of the city of Minneapolis
