Function: The commission shall develop and maintain a statewide plan for the development of cable communications services, setting forth the objectives which the commission deems to be of regional and state concern.

History:
1974 Minn. Laws Chap. 506 Sec. 3 increased the powers of the commission. 1975 Minn. Laws Chap. 271 Sec. 6 the name changed from commission to board. 1976 Minn. Laws 1976 Chap. 246 Sec. 2 the board is placed permanently within the Administration Department.
1985 Minn. Laws 1st. Sp. Session Chap. 13 Sec. 17 Subd. 3 Par. 3 the responsibilities of the board are transferred to the Commerce Commission as of June 30, 1985; positions for board members and staff abolished, no positions transferred.
Membership:
As of 1984, 7 members appointed by governor. The members of the commission shall be representative of the broad range of interests related to telecommunication needs and concerns.
