In June, 2003, Governor Pawlenty directed the formation of a Clean Water Cabinet. During a speech to more than 250 environmental stakeholders from across the state, the Governor reiterated his administration's commitment to protecting the lakes, rivers, streams and groundwater so important to Minnesota's exceptional quality of life.

"Minnesotans care deeply about the quality of their drinking water, and the quality and the future of their lakes, streams and rivers. They want to know that their children will be able to enjoy the waters for years to come," said Governor Pawlenty.
