Uniform Consumer Information Guide Advisory Committee

Function:

The advisory committee shall present recommendations to the commissioner on: a format for a guide to be used by individual providers of assisted living, as defined in section 144G.01, that includes information about services offered by that provider, service costs, and other relevant provider-specific information, as well as a statement of philosophy and values associated with assisted living, presented in uniform categories that facilitate comparison with guides issued by other providers; and requirements for informing assisted living clients, as defined in section 144G.01, of their applicable legal rights.

History:

The Uniform Consumer Information Guide Advisory Committee was reviewed by the Legislative Commission on Planning and Fiscal Policy (LCPFP) in 2013 as part of their biennial duty required by Minn. Stat. 3.885 Subd. 11. The LCPFP's 2013 Recommendations called for the committee to be repealed and 2014 Minn. Laws Chap. 286 Art. 7 Sec. 3 contained the repeal.

Membership:

The advisory committee shall consist of representatives of consumers, providers, county and state officials, and other groups the commissioner considers appropriate.
