Function: The committee reviews all statewide assessments. The committee submits its recommendations to the commissioner of the Department of Education and to the committees of the legislature having jurisdiction over kindergarten through grade 12 education policy and budget issues.
Membership:
11 members selected by the commissioner: two superintendents; two teachers; two higher education faculty; and up to five members of the public, consisting of parents and members of the business community.
