State Community Health Services Advisory Committee
Active dates:1976 - 2014
Function: The State Community Health Services Advisory Committee (SCHSAC) advises, consults with, and makes recommendations to the Commissioner of Health on matters relating to the development, funding, and evaluation of community health services in Minnesota.
SCHSAC voting members represent each of the community health boards (CHBs) in the state. Each CHB selects one member and one alternate to represent its board within SCHSAC.
In 2013, there were 50 Community Health Boards. Approximately two-thirds of the members are local elected officials and the others are local public health directors and community health services administrators.
