Governor's Task Force on Health Care

Function: Study publicly funded health care programs in Minnesota and make specific recommendations to the governor regarding changes needed to limit expenditures for such programs. In the short term, the Task Force will recommend changes needed to limit public health care expenditures to the amount appropriated for the fiscal year 1982-83 biennium. In the long term, the Task Force will review the existing design, operation and implementation of publicly funded health care programs and to make recommendations to improve the adequacy and contain the cost of those programs.
History: The Task Force was formed in May, 1981 and delivered a final report in December, 1981.
Membership: 15 members. The task force chairperson and members shall be appointed by the governor.
