Function: The commission shall review and make recommendations for any necessary improvements in state policy relating to the regulation of health insurers, nonprofit health service plans, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, and other arrangements that insure or finance the provision of health services.
The commission shall report to the governor and the legislature by January 1, 1989.
History:
This initiative resulted from legislative recognition of the rapid development of health plan products and the current and potential effect of state regulation on consumer protection and equitable competition.
Membership:
Membership includes members of government, health care, businesses, and citizens.
