Allied Health Manpower Credentialing Advisory Committee

Function: Advise Minnesota State Board of Health in formulating policies relating to credentialing of new health manpower categories (categories not specified in statutes).
History:
The federal Comprehensive Health Planning Program (Public Law 89-749) can be seen as a precursor to this advisory committee. The program worked to develop plans for manpower policies, among other tasks, to present to the Governor and Legislature.
This committee was renamed the Human Services Occupations Advisory Council in 1976.
Membership:
Representatives of health licensing board, Consumer Services Section of Commerce Department, State Comprehensive Health Planning Advisory Council, Higher Education Coordinating Board, plus up 11 members appointed by governor.
