Indian Gaming in Minnesota
Casino City’s 2014 Indian Gaming Industry Report is the Library’s single best resource for statistics and financial figures for assessing the economic impact of Indian gaming and its contribution to the U.S. economy. State-by-state market summaries are provided—Minnesota’s 2012 Indian gaming revenue is estimated at $1.47 billion—as well as descriptions of ongoing and potential future gaming developments. The report includes a history of Indian gaming and provides statistics on the development of Indian gaming in the United States since the passage of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act in 1988.
House Research’s report, American Indians, Indian Tribes, and State Government, introduces "major legal issues involved in the relationship between Indian tribes, Indians, and state government," and includes a chapter on gaming regulation in Minnesota. The chapter outlines the types of gaming allowed in Minnesota and maps the locations of the 17 Indian casinos in Minnesota.
