Mandated Reports
Each year, legislators require new reports for a variety of reasons. Legislative Library staff members track these important reports, archive them in print and digitally, and ensure they will be available to current and future researchers. Here are a few of the types of reports we receive, with examples of recent titles.
A government agency or a newly-created task force might be required to produce a one-time report to explain a policy issue and make recommendations.
If a new program is enacted, a report may be required to describe how it was implemented.
Some mandated reports focus specifically on transparency and accountability for spending.
Some mandated reports provide important statistics on an annual or biennial basis.
