1899 - Governor John Lind
|Our library records prior to 1939 are incomplete; there may be vetoes that we are not aware of.|
||Full or Line (# of lines)
||An act to allot funds for the state to build and equip two additional hospitals for the mentally insane.
||An act to appropriate money to meet any claim or claims made under the provisions of chapter two hundred and five (205), General Laws of one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five (1895), relating to the manufacture of sugar and paying a bounty therefor
Unlike counting full vetoes, the counting of line item vetoes is
inherently arbitrary. Library staff used these guidelines. If a lump-sum appropriation was broken down into several component items and
the entire lump sum was vetoed, it was counted as one item.
Appropriations divided into separate amounts for two fiscal years
were also counted as one item.
