A STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR -- March 10, 2008
 

~ Governor Pawlenty statement regarding the retirement of Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Russell Anderson ~

Saint Paul – Today, Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Russell Anderson submitted a letter of retirement to Governor Tim Pawlenty effective June 1, 2008. Anderson has served as Chief Justice since January 10, 2006 and was initially appointed as an Associate Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1998. He previously served as a Minnesota District Court judge.

The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty regarding the retirement of Chief Justice Russell Anderson:

“Chief Justice Anderson is an extraordinary leader and public servant. From his service in the United States Navy to his leadership of the Minnesota Supreme Court, he has committed his life to protecting and upholding our state and nation’s values and principles. We especially thank him for his 25 years of hard work and dedication as a judge and wish him well in his retirement and future endeavors.”
