Human Rights Advisory Task Force

Function: The Task Force will provide a framework to fully examine and provide answers to some of the major questions and issues that have been raised after the recent change in the administration of the Department of Human Rights.

History: In 1983 the Human Rights Advisory Committee was renamed a task force, its existence was made permissive, and language relating to qualifications of members was stricken. (1983 Minn. Laws Chap. 428 Sec. 60).

The Task Force will report its findings and recommensations to Acting Commissioner Khalifa who will forward them to Governor Perpich in late January (1987).

The Human Rights Advisory Task Force was reviewed by the Legislative Commission on Planning and Fiscal Policy (LCPFP) in 2013 as part of their biennial duty required by Minn. Stat. 3.885 Subd. 11. The LCPFP's 2013 Recommendations called for keeping the task force.
