Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced that prior to leading Minnesota's first-ever trade mission to India, he will stop in China to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Minnesota's sister-state agreement with Shaanxi Province.

Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Judge Heidi S. Schellhas, Judge Francis J. Connolly, and Matthew E. Johnson to three new Minnesota Court of Appeals judgeships. These are new positions created by the 2007 Legislature (2007 Minnesota Laws, Chapter 54, Article 1, Section 4) that take effect on January 1, 2008.

LARGEST CONSERVATION PROJECT IN A DECADE ENSURES ACCESS TO 51,000 ACRES IN MINNESOTA'S NORTHWOODS -- October 3, 2007
Governor Pawlenty today announced the single largest conservation project in Minnesota in a decade. State and private money has been used to purchase working forest conservation easements on more than 51,163 acres of forest in Itasca and Koochiching counties.

GOVERNOR PAWLENTY SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER DIRECTING STATE AGENCIES TO CONDUCT WORKFORCE PLANNING -- October 2, 2007
To ensure that state government is able to successfully carry out its mission now and in the future, Governor Tim Pawlenty today signed an executive order that requires all state agencies to conduct workforce planning to deal with potential labor shortages. The number of state employees retiring annually has increased by 32 percent over the last five years.
